Sketching!!

This week ended up being a lot crazier than I would have liked it to be...

I feel like I just didn't have enough free time to get stuff done. Last night I was hoping to change that and knock some stuff out of the way, but the universe had other plans. I feel like there isn't enough time in the day to do the things I want to. I suppose I had gotten a bit used to all of that extra time when I was unemployed. Now that I'm working again, I'll have to revamp my schedule a bit.

So I thought I'd share a work in progress for another Blog Spotlight I have coming up. :)

So far I've gotten one of the three bloggers done. I've just about finished the line art on this one and then I'll have one more to start/complete. I've also got a commission that I'm working on for Nicky of Awesomeville. I'm pretty stoked. :3

Still a ways to go. The left side isn't completely done yet. D:

The blue lines are the sketches I use to make up the under-layer. Once that layer is complete, I go over it with another layer to be the outline. Then of course, I'll add a bottom layer of color and another top layer of details. Since I'm a Photoshop artists, I work in lots of layers. On average, I tend to use/merge 150-300 layers.

Earlier this week I finished a commission for a super cute couple in the UK.
I've got another one to start on Sunday when I finally have time scheduled to sit down and draw. I'm trying to limit myself to no more than 1 a week.

I can't wait to share all my new art & sketches with you guys next week! Seriously, I love drawing. Especially when there's people around to appreciate it!

Have a great weekend everyone!

  2. Ahhhh, gorgeous and I am SO jealous! I'm a digi artist working with a Wacom bamboo and I use either SAI or Open Canvas. I have one commish I am doing right now - which has taken me entirely TOO LONG. I feel so guilty!

I really must get my butt into gear. ;)
