Weekend in Review: Angry Birds & Crafty Kids

Monday

Whew, what a weekend!

I swear they're going by quicker and quicker. With my full-time job being ever more hectic and all of my free time going towards planning our wedding, I am starting to get a little burned out. And I still haven't had any time to sit down and start playing Skyrim. :(

Jer and I partook in Birthday shenanigans all weekend long. We went out for dinner with my family on Friday night and then again with my friends on Saturday night. We headed back to the trampoline place. While it was a lot of fun, it's starting to lose it's charm. I think a change of pace is in order. Possibly some indoor rock climbing or power yoga.

Over the weekend, Jer and I went over to my parents to celebrate my birthday. Somehow the topic of Angry Birds came up and before I knew it, my dad had hijacked my phone for a few hours, playing the game. Eventually I got it back but he's since kidnapped my mother's iPad. According to her, he's been playing non-stop. Friday night he was even up until 1:30 in the morning playing (he had been playing since 8pm that evening. Obsessed? Maybe a little. One thing I know for sure if that my Dad just got a whole lot easier to shop for.

Last night I got to babysit my two favorite girls. I always bring a craft bag with me, filled with tons of crafty goodness and dress up clothes. The girls requested that we make some microphones. I had some tissue paper and toilet paper rolls and that seemed to do the job nicely. I helped the girls roll the tissue paper up into a ball and we used some Elmer's glue to attach them to the toilet-paper rolls. They decorated them with some paper cut-outs and markers. This was an easy craft with an easy clean-up. Score one for the babysitter!

  1. Love the microphones. So adorable!

Don't worry about your dad playing the heck out of Angry Birds. At least you don't have roommates that have played The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword for two weeks straight, not doing much but staying on that day from morning to night. At least your dad is not addicted....yet.

  2. hehe thanks. According to my mom, he hasn't done much of anything else lately. Jer and I are hoping that he at least holds the obsession for a few more months until his birthday. Though I do suspect he'll get tired of it before then. So we'll see... :)
