Emergency Vet Visit - New Kitten

I was hoping to introduce the newest edition to our family in a big fancy post, but mother nature had other plans.

Last weekend Jeremy and I adopted another kitten and it's been love at first sight for everyone in the household, even for Linus! It only took him 3 days to get used to her and now they're inseparable.

However, our new kitten showed signs of being sick shortly after getting her home . It seemed as though she contracted the shelter flu (aka upper respiratory infection). We noticed her sneezing on and off some, but hoped it would blow away on its own. However, last night she could barely breath and was making the most horrible snotty sounds. Around midnight it was getting a little scary and we did what we thought was necessary and took her to the Emergency vet in Farmers Branch.

Some time later, we were on our way back home with some antibiotics and a very tired and frustrated kitten. We all slept in this morning and have her close by. The doctor wants us to keep an eye on her for the next 24 hours to ensure that the meds are working.

"soft kitty, warm kitty... little ball of fur..."

All in all an exciting first few days with the new kitten.
I promise to formally introduce you all to her once she's feeling better.

  2. Awww, poor little girl! I hope she feels better soon!

  3. Awww! I hope the little lion is doing okay! I've been trying to convince my fiance for 2 weeks now to let me adopt another cat but he keeps saying no. Granted I have four now...but still...it doesn't stop me from falling in love! She is adorable...I can't wait to see more photos!

  4. Oh! Poor little kitten.
I hope she's better now that it's a couple days later.
