Where has Stephanie Been?

To make a long story short, Last week I was crazy sick. I assumed most of my problems were all related to stress and it's possible they were. I treated what I could but before I knew it I was up to my knees in more problems. Friday night I got to babysit two of my favorite girls and shortly after dinner I began feeling pain in my abdomen. That night it got really bad.

Saturday was the Texas Food Truck Festival. I'm a super foodie and Food Trucks have been near the top of my foodie bucket list of things to try. I was still hurting a little bit, but the pain was mild. No big deal, right? We had a blast and I'll share my adventure later this week in another post!

Within an hour after returning home the extreme pain was back. I took pain pills, used a hot compress. Anything we could think would make the pain go away. By midnight I wasn't getting any better and Jer took me to the ER. My mom met us there. Not the most ideal way to start off Mother's Day.

It seems that I have a not-so-healthy gallbladder and this pain is called a gallbladder attack. Luckily, it didn't need to be removed right away. I will however have to take medication every day, change my diet and get more exercise in. And eventually, I will need to have it removed.

Mother's day was wonderful. Since I was recovering from the ER visit, we all took it slow. We went to dinner with my Aunt and Uncle and later got to visit my Grandmother in the hospital. She had surgery this past Tuesday and they'll be moving her to rehab this week. We joked about being hospital buddies. It was so wonderful to see her face filled with laughter and love.

Soo all in all this last week was an "adventure" of sorts. I'm still very weak and I will be for a couple of days while I get my strength back.

What did you do for Mother's day?

Dallas Comic Con is this upcoming weekend and I'll be taking TONSSSSS of photos with so much to share. I hope you guys don't mind my nerding out.

  3. Holy moly! I hope you're feeling better! :(

I didn't do much of anything for mother's day; I live across the country from my mom (but I was responsible and sent flowers!). Comic con sounds like fun! :)

  6. Yikes! You're the third person I know who recently started having gall bladder problems. The good news is that the other two I know had theirs out and it's a pretty fast recovery! Not that you're dying to get yours out, I'm sure, but you know... Hope you're feeling better!
