In Progress: Moving to a new place

What a whirlwind of a weekend. We started our move on Friday and it's been quite the adventure. Our lease had so many types, including our names spelled wrong. And they forgot about our poor little kitties. Needless to say, things are looking up! The maintenance guys came over to fix everything and the manager is working with us to correct the lease. So hopefully I'll have some peace of mind once all this moving is over.

The kitties were none too happy about the move. But they're settling in nicely.
We rented a UHAUL on Saturday and with the help of 3 friends, moved all the big stuff over. We were on the 2nd floor, so it was an adventure getting the couched and dinning room table into the apartment.

Jeremy and I bought a new bookshelf from IKEA and though it took a lot of extra tools to put it together, we managed to get it complete. I absolutely love it and cannot wait to fill it up with all of our collectables.

We get our internet and TV turned on today (hopefully the receiver and router come in today) and so I'll be able to start blogging more. At the moment our computers and desk and in complete disarray at the house.

Oh moving... you so crazy.

  1. Moving has got to be one of the most stressful adventures we undertake. All of a sudden you realize just how much stuff you really have and how much junk you have and you also have to deal with your sentimentality ... and then your landlord screws something up and things just spiral into absolute craziness. I hope you get settled in quickly!!

  2. Oooh that bookshelf is good-lookin'! I wish we had more room for more bookshelves in our house. Lord knows we need 'em...

It sounds like things are slowly shaping up for you to start settling in, despite the stressful start (holy "s" words, Batman!). I especially know how much of a pain in the butt it is to move into a place on the 2nd floor -- lots of banged elbows and scary trips up unviewable staircases... I'm sure it won't be too much longer before all you gotta do is get things outta boxes and get comfy!
