Rat Queens Cosplay: Violet

I'm so excited to share with you guys my current Cosplay project. I'm going to be working my ass off for the next week and a half in preparation of getting this costume done. SERIOUSLY, 2 WEEKS? Ugh.

Rat Queens is one of these and I'm so in love!
Imagine a bunch of misfit girls living together in a frat, getting drunk and fighting baddies D&D style. There's so much sarcasm and humor. I love it! Image has been wowing my socks off with the amount of strong female characters they're writing and starring in their comics. Rat queens has four!

Violet is a dwarf, and a total bamf at that. She loves to fight and has strong loyalty to her companions. Plus, she's rocking the freckles. I knew I had to cosplay her once I saw her in the comics.

My Progress so far: Supplies had been stocked up. Mounds of craft foam, foat glue and a new heat gun have been acquired. I've creeped through my first ever attempt at working with craft foam to make armor. I've been working on the belt buckle all weekend. Not the best looking, but I'm happy with it so far! I'm about 6 coats of wood glue so far (needing about 10 before I can move onto primer and paint).

Scifi Expo is coming up here in DFW and I'll be attending on Sunday, Feb. 9.
I've also added a cool button on my sidebar with all my planned cosplays for 2014.

Happy Monday!
